Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Looks at how your thoughts shape your emotions and behavior, then works to shift the patterns that keep you stuck.
We combine structured, evidence-based approaches with holistic care that treats the whole picture, not just the symptom sitting in front of us. Here’s what that looks like.
About Us

Evidence-based and holistic get used so often in therapy marketing that they’ve stopped meaning much. Here’s what they actually mean at Eannarino Therapeutic Services, and which specific methods your therapist might use with you.
These methods are backed by controlled research and refined over decades of clinical use. They're structured, and they work.
Looks at how your thoughts shape your emotions and behavior, then works to shift the patterns that keep you stuck.
Builds skills for managing intense emotions and improving relationships, especially useful when feelings show up faster than you can process them.
Uses guided eye movements to help your brain process traumatic memories that feel stuck. Widely used for PTSD and trauma.
Locates where trauma lives in your body's stress response and works through it directly, often when talk therapy alone hasn't been enough.
A structured approach to rebuilding trust and communication in a relationship, built on decades of research into what actually keeps couples together.
Concentrates on what's working and where you want to go, instead of digging endlessly into what went wrong.
These methods treat the body and nervous system alongside the mind, not instead of it. Several of our team members trained in these specifically because talk therapy alone doesn't reach everyone.
A focused, relaxed state that helps your mind and body respond differently to pain, stress, or an old habit that hasn't budged. A trained clinician guides you through it the entire time.
A listening-based therapy that calms your nervous system, often used alongside talk therapy for anxiety and trauma.
Treats the different parts of yourself, the anxious part and the protective part alike, as a system worth understanding instead of silencing.
Shows you, in real time, how your body responds to stress, so you can learn to change that response on purpose.
Uses creative expression to reach what's hard to put into words, especially useful for kids and for processing trauma.
Meets children where they actually communicate, through play, instead of asking a seven-year-old to explain their feelings from a chair.
Also woven into treatment as needed: Rapid Resolution Therapy, the Trauma Resiliency Model, the Comprehensive Resource Model, strengths-based therapy, and sex therapy.
That's exactly what the first call is for. None of this stays fixed once it's chosen. If CBT stalls out, or something new surfaces three sessions in, your therapist adjusts. The plan you start with in week one isn't always the plan you're on by week ten.
Eannarino Therapeutic Services is based in McHenry, inside a county we already know well. We see clients in person from McHenry, Crystal Lake, Woodstock, Lake in the Hills, Cary, Algonquin, and Huntley, and by video anywhere in Illinois for anyone who can't make the drive.
It's where we live, and it's where we plan to stay.
A method on a page is just a method. What makes it work is a real person who spent years training in it, then decided it fit your specific situation.
Meet Our TeamA short call tells you which of these methods, and which therapist, actually fits what you're dealing with. No pressure, no obligation past that conversation.
No pressure. Just a conversation about what comes next.
